The verdict

If your group can commit to a full campaign, this is one of the most rewarding co-op experiences on the table, even if it never quite matches Season 1's tension.

Best for: A committed group of 2-4 who finished Season 1 and want something new, not a rerun.

The full review

What it is

Picture Pandemic, then turn it inside out. It's 70 years after the first plague, the world has gone dark, and you're one of a few sea havens trying to keep humanity supplied. Instead of chasing disease cubes off the board, you place supply cubes to stop the plague before it lands. The map starts nearly blank. You uncover cities and coastlines through a Recon action, so every group builds a slightly different world. That discovery is the hook, and it's a good one.

The catch

Here's the honest part. Plenty of players, me included, never feel the white-knuckle dread that made Season 1 famous, especially at two players where you can over-engineer your supply lines. The prevention puzzle is clever, but it can tip into comfortable. And because it's legacy, a sour run of card draws can hand you a loss you couldn't have stopped, which lands harder with no reset button. You also track a steady drip of new rules, and forgetting a step is easy.

Who it's for

So who's this for? People who finished Season 1 and want a real evolution, not a victory lap. Reviewers keep landing in the same place: it's a touch easier and a little less tense than the original, but the discovery and the story carry it. If your group of two to four can lock in a dozen-plus sessions over months, it pays you back. If you want a one-night game, walk away. This wants commitment, and it earns it.
